Default Auto Implementation of successful Life Factors...

This one is hard to title and explain. My goal with using Smart Diary is to be able to track the things I am doing and not doing that help me with this so called chronic fatigue, depression, Fibro, etc. Over the years I seem to forget some of the things that have worked for me I am hoping SD will help remind me to do the things that work. What I think would be helpful to have is some way for any life factor that meets a certain criteria to automatically show up in either the diary or daily schedule view. For example, lately I have been experimenting with different foods and how they affect me. If I make a life factor for food sensitivity and a certain food keeps causing a negative reaction then automatically on my Diary there will be a place that shows this food under things not to do. And if I find that drinking a liter of water in the morning seems to help, this will show up in the things to do category So many times I forget about simple little things that end up causing me grief. This winter I forgot how drying the heater is at night and I started to wake up with a headache from lack of humidity. I lost a number of days of work until the dim light bulb in my head started to go off. If I had recorded this in SD and it automatically showed up in my Daily Routine window it might have saved me from lots of pain. Would other people find something like this helpful?

Sounds interesting... I am not sure exactly how to implement this at the moment so it's easy to use and understand though.

Would that mean having a setting in each Life Factor, where you'd mark values below/above which (or selection from a list) you'd get an alert of some sort if you'd enter them? I have to wrap my head about this, I can almost imagine it, but not yet.

Any ideas on how to make this work welcome!

One Idea I had was an extra tab on the life factors configuration box. You put a check in the "Auto notify" Box and then you have a something like an if/then thing. ie. If this life factors = "Yes" or "No" or a high or low number or a label" for X amount of time "one day, week month, year for ever" then take this action, Alarm, place note in diary, place on schedule. email etc.

I do need to spend some more time thinking about this to make sure I am not leaving obvious things out, but this was what first came to mind.
    Thanks

Let's think about it - I agree that it's an interesting idea. I'm sure that if we can come up with an easy to use interface, it would be a great addition to SDS. That new pane would be like a monitor screen, right?

I can see how to implement the controls to set up the warnings but I am not too sure about where the data should go. Ideally I see a new screen but that sounds like a lot of work and it might add to the complexity. If it was a new screen it would be something like a "Daily Routine" screen that automatically and manually sets up your days. Not only with Smart Factors warnings but with birthdays, meetings, etc. Perhaps part of the tasks or schedule screen. I am still new to SD so I just took a quick look into the Task pain looks like it has some of these features. So if it was sent to the tasks pain and if the Smart Factor met the criteria then it would need a control to have it sent daily, weekly, monthly, etc. I think that would do it for me. Maybe it is only me but I could really use this feature. I keep forgetting things I did or didn't do that seems to make a difference in my life. Thanks for being so prompt with the support queries. I am sure this is a lot of work and I hope it doesn't become a burden.
    Thanks

Maybe it could be part of the Overview screen? I mean, it already has your upcoming appointments and tasks, so part of that is done I think your idea is good, we just need to think about it some more before diving into implementation. I believe it will have value for many people.

Yes, I agree. It is just something to think about. I kind of have the new user enthusiasm with ideas popping into my head now and then. I hope I don't get annoying. I am sure you have a list of things your working on. If it is not already being done maybe one day you could put a bunch of features that you are thinking about putting up and we can vote on the ones we like the most? See.... another newbie suggestion I promise I will stop.
    Thanks again,
    Russ

Please don't stop suggesting - it's very important for me to know what you feel and what you need! However, there probably won't be a list of upcoming features any time soon, as I mentioned in this thread: http://forum.psunrise.com/showthread...entations-list
