Default Upcoming features / implementations list?

    Hi there Dennis!

Must say! I am using Smart Diary more and more. It is so amazing to be able to track so many elements of my day and life in one piece of software rather than many. A quick question for the day, this may already exist, is there a thread that lists the features that have been approved for Smart Diary, what features are being worked on, and which are expected to be included in the next upgrade? Just curious if something like this exists or if in all reality it would just be too cumbersome and take too much of your time.

    Thank you again for everything!

    Eric

    Hi Eric,

I am glad that you like SDS and thank you!

To answer your question - there is no such public list, but I do have one myself of course. At the moment it has over 120 items in it which are planned to be implemented (or fixed, but mostly implemented). It's not public because, for one thing, as you noted, maintaining it would take precious time that I'd rather spend on the software itself. Sometimes I make a decision to change what's going into the next update based on feedback or a last-minute bug I find and such quick changes would then require me to go into the public list and make all the updates there as well, which would then prompt people to ask why a feature has first been planned and then not implemented. Another reason is not to give people false hopes that they'll see items in the list implemented in a month or two. Some of the items from today's list won't make it into the program for a year or so, because others are queued before them. Generally when I see interest in some area (here on the forum or through e-mails), I tend to push items on the list that belong to that area up a bit. So it's very dynamic And another reason is that I don't really want to give away all those precious ideas that make SDS unique away before they are implemented

Dennis, you're a gentlemen and a scholar like no other to take the time as you do with those who use Smart Diary.

    Thank you again! :-)
