    Default Spreadsheet view for graph

What about having a spreadsheet view where I can see all of the life factors along the left side and the dates along the top. And a way to sort them using one of the factors as a base. This way I can make a Life Factor that says "How the day was" with a 1-10 rating and view all of my other LF's in relations to days that are 0 or 5 or 10. Because some LF's are not always numbers I can quickly read what things I was doing and not doing in and around the different 1-10 ratings. Then if I want to sort on maybe a different LF like a certain medication I can use that as a base and view all of the others, looking to the left or right of the entries to see what if any changes were being made in my life. I am a new user so maybe I can get the same results in the graph when I set it up right but I keep thinking it would be nice to see everything on one big page as readable text like a spreadsheet.
    Thanks
    Russ

    Thank you for this suggestion.

It's an interesting idea and I can see how that can be useful in some cases. If you wanted to sort Life Factors in it, they'd have to go across (as columns) and then dates would need to be vertical (rows) though. What do you think?

I always imagined it the other way with LF on the left and dates on the top but if it is all the same in terms of usability and it has to go that way then it would be fine. To me, SD is going to prove its effectiveness six months to years from now. That is when there will so much data that I can't just review my notes and diary entries and the Smart Factors to get a look back on things. I will be relying on the graph and hopefully maybe some kind of spreadsheet view to look back and see what I was doing that might be affecting me today. So at this point it is hard to say if the graphs are enough. I hope your experience will let you know if investing the time in a spreadsheet view is going to be worth it. I do hope so.
    Thanks again,
    Russ

Could this be achieved by being able to export Life Factor data (in say a comma delimited CSV format) ?
This could then be imported into Excel or a freeware spreadsheet application and used as required.
Like Russ, I would find this function very useful.

To me, the benefit of doing it "outside" of SDS is the applications (eg Excel, PlanMaker, Open Office etc ) are already there to provide the analysis tools. Either presenting the raw data in a large, scrollable spreadsheet or graphing and analysing the data as required.

The ability to be able to export selected LF data for specific timeframes (or all data) would be a great bonus.

    Regards,
    Steve

I think both of those ideas are great and they should both be implemented.

I do think that having LFs on the left and dates at the top is more logical (to me at least), but the only issue with that is how to sort them (if that's needed at all). Usually you click on the column header to sort items. But if sorting is not needed, then this is not an issue of course. Please let me know what you think.

I think the facility of being able to export LF by date would be very useful. e.g. I may take my Blood Pressure readings and when it is time for my doctor's appt I can export to Excel and print it after adding additional print data.

    Thanks for a good software.
