    Default Task Thoughts

    Hi there!
Few thoughts regarding the Tasks section, I am not certain if these have been previously requested however thought I would lay them out on the table.

    • Comprehensive notes for a single task (formatting of text)
    • Expand the new / edit task window to view the notes in larger detail.
I realize this may be asking a bit much *crosses fingers* Hoping not! More than anything trying to merge all my work tracking into a singular program (Smart Diary) from TaskMerlin.

Thank you again for all your help and openess to receiving such requests. In just the few days I have been using Smart Diary it is obvious that the product is not just great due to the creator but the community you allow to work as a whole adding to it.

    Thank you!

    Eric

    Hi Eric,

It's a good idea and I believe it should make its way into SDS. I'll mark it down and thank you for suggesting this!

    Hi Dennis,

Am new to SDS. Spent quite a bit of time going thru a few software before beginning use of SDS. Some things that I am still struggling with:

    1) Task View - Can I have tasks for next N days and not just today.

    2) I have set up my daily taks as a recurring task which shows up in the schedule as well. Can the recurring ones for next N days appear only once in the task list plus a list of all other tasks.

    3) Can I mark a recurring task as having been completed for just today - such that it still appears as undone for future days.

    4) I noticed something about Overview in some of the forum discussions. But I do not see that. I am still playing with the free edition.

    Thanks

    Hi!

    1) Task View - Can I have tasks for next N days and not just today.
I am not sure I quite understand - can you please give me a bit more details on what you mean?
    2) I have set up my daily taks as a recurring task which shows up in the schedule as well. Can the recurring ones for next N days appear only once in the task list plus a list of all other tasks.
The recurring items in the Schedule should only appear once in the task list (in the Task view).
    3) Can I mark a recurring task as having been completed for just today - such that it still appears as undone for future days.
Yes, when you mark an item in the Schedule as completed, only that particular item becomes "completed".
    4) I noticed something about Overview in some of the forum discussions. But I do not see that. I am still playing with the free edition.
The Overview is available in the non-free editions (you can see all the differences on this page: http://www.sdiary.com/features_versi...ison_chart.php

    Hi Dennis,

Have purchased the Home Edition and am really happy with the SDS. Am able to park all my info at one place. Thanks for a great software.

As I am playing around with it, I realised that I would like some features that would make it even more useful.

    1) Allow for resizeable columns in the Nutrition List. Currently it is not available for Nutrition but exists for notes, schedules and diary.

    2) In my listing of diary entries, an additional column of date would be useful. Currently, I have to dbl-click and open dialog box to get the date.

    3) Where can I change categories attached to tasks?

    4) In Schedule, it would be useful to have extra flags that I can change while creating / editing a schedule. Currently, I have added hierarchical daily recurring tasks to block some times of my daily schedule. This helps me to plan my day better and also I feel better when I get to tick them off as being complete (small pleasures of life).

What I would to do is the ability to block my select recurring appts from the month view so that I can print my month schedule with external appointments and not my daily routine. Also a flag that allows me to choose how an hierarchical appt appears - as individual sub-items or just the overall title.

    Thanks,

    Nirmala Sekhar

Yes, I'll fix that up - Recipe Name and Category are not resizable at the moment, but the rest of the columns are, right?

    3) Where can I change categories attached to tasks?
In Tasks mode, go to Tasks -> Edit Categories menu item or just type in a new category in the category box and if it doesn't exist, it'll be added on for you. To delete or edit, you need to use the Edit Categories.

Do they have some specific category? I could add a function to hide/show specific categories from the Schedule view, so that you could hide those and then print, would that work?

Also a flag that allows me to choose how an hierarchical appt appears - as individual sub-items or just the overall title.
I am not sure I understand this one - is this in Schedule or Tasks? Can you please describe this a bit more or maybe send me a screenshot?
