About Life Factors

where can i find a link to instructions, basic, on how the Life part of the project works. I cannot understand it at all, maybe because i am on free version?

It's a good question, thank you.

Have a read of this page: http://www.sdiary.com/features_what_is_a_parameter.php - it tries to explain what Life Factors are in general.

Basically, a life factor is anything you wish to monitor on a daily basis (although it doesn't have to be daily, you can do this as often or as seldom as you like). Take for example, Mood (found in the Mind section) - if you start selecting your mood when you create each diary entry, then over time you will see your ups and downs. If at the same time you are filling in other factors, you'll be able to see the relationship between your mood and those other factors and patterns will emerge that will tell you when you are happy and when you are not.

With the new version, you can click on the graph and it'll take you to the relevant diary entry, so you can immediately see what happened when you had your best/worst days.

I have been using this excellent for few months now. However I am unable to download Life factor packs from the forum Am I doing something wrong?? I have been going the revelant Life Factor clicking on it, then it tells me to log on-- but I was logged on, Help!

I just tried and it works ok. Can you please try again? Also, which one are you trying to download or none of them work for you? What browser are you using?

How strange --- I tried it immediately after posting the above and it worked! (Maybe I had to make a post first, who knows). For information, it was the Projects Life Factor with IE7. Thanks for the speedy response anyway.

I have one question on this - how can you get a graphic imbedded in the life facter like you do with the weather - sunshine face?

To embed a graphic in a Life Factor you'll need to go to Life Factors -> Configure Life Factors, then let's select the Weather LF and click Edit. After that click on any of the values in the list on the right (e.g. Rainy) and you should see a graphic appear to the left. Now, if you click on Add, a file explorer window will come up and it'll let you put in your own graphic.
