How about being able to have a yes and a no check box at the same time when customizing Life Factors? That way you can choose and you know what it is. As it stands you have a box but it does not say what it is it is just a box.

I mean when you set up the Life Factor you know what it is but if we are going to be sharing Life Factors with others they would necessarily know what the box meant. So if you set up for a yes and no answer to a Life Factor question you would see both boxes and check the appropriate one.

That would probably be better suited by a radio button control, that allows a single selection from a multiple choice. A checkbox doesn't enforce you (by system design anyway) to have only one checked/unchecked at a time, so you could in theory check both "Yes" and "No" if they were present in one life factor, which wouldn't make sense.

Checkbox life factor, as any other, has a name which is supposed to convey its purpose and meaning. So, when you set up your checkbox life factor, it's best to give it such a name that would allow you (or others) to immediately know what it means. And it should be in such a form that has a default meaning of "No".

Please let me know if it's not suiting some life factor that you wish to set up and we can discuss it on a specific example (which would make it easier for both of us to understand the limitations, if any).

Thank you,

Dennis

Currently you have a Life Factor Copulation, it has an empty box beside it with no idea as to its meaning other than like you said assuming it is no by default. The radio button option may be the way to do it if we can label the buttons. ie yes and no or select from pollen, ragweed or whatever. It may just be too much detail that way but a basic yes and no button option I believe would make its appear easier to use and understand.

If that makes sense if not I will try again.

I see your point. It may not be obvious at a first glance whether it's a text box, or a checkbox or something else, right? Would it help if the checkbox was always shown (empty or checked)?
